HISTORIC RESTORATION

Nineteenth-century buildings form a nostalgic part of our history. Their beauty is worth preserving to remind us where we come from, and of what the world looked like in another time and place. Repairs and restoration of these old gems require extra special care to make sure that our future generations can appreciate these symbols of our rich heritage.

Traditional masonry work is also a lost art.  Our team of masonry experts understands that many 18th and 19th century structures used sand and lime, and not the strong mortars of today’s building requirements. Maintenance in the form of cleaning work, brick or stone additions, and repairs must use these same materials to restore buildings or you’ll run the risk of creating further damage. Analyzing the materials used during earlier periods is an essential part of returning these older buildings to their former glory, in addition to ensuring they remain safe for occupation.

Our team of experts have completed extensive training to work on historical restoration projects. We are well-versed in using lime putty for Frenchman and Englishman jointing. We value our historical buildings as much as everyone else, so we make sure that we know how to maintain them.
